Two brothers stabbed to death, mother hurt by neighbors

An old enmity between two families in Dairy Mohalla here turned bloody on the occasion of Holi on Sunday when two brothers were stabbed to death by the rival groups in broad day light. Mother of the youths also suffered serious injuries in the assault, who has been struggling for life at the PGIMS here. The deceased have been identified as Anil Kumar and Kailash alias Kala.

The police has registered a case of murder against Sunder Lal and his sons- Sandeep and Pradeep- who are the neighbours of the victims, in this connection and launched a hunt to nab them who are absconding since after the incident.

According to reports, the incident took place when the trio victims were sitting outside their house to enjoy Holi being played by the children over there. They were suddenly attacked with swords and axes by the neighbours. The assailants fled the spot after perpetrating the crime while Kailash reportedly died on the spot. Anil and his mother Phoolwati in a critical condition were rushed to the PGIMS where Anil succumbed to his injuries later.

The City Police, on getting information, rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. Later, bodies of the brothers were handed over to their kin after getting their postmortem done from the PGIMS.

“Raids are being carried out at the possible hideout of Sunder Lal and his sons- Sandeep and Pradeep- against whom a case of murder has been registered under various sections of the IPC,” said the City Police SHO, Ramesh Alawadi, adding that the families were nursing a grudge against each other since some times.
