-Three officials of Forest Department suspended

Three officials of Forest Department, including an inspector, have been placed under suspension in connection with the killing of ten deers at a Deer Park located near Sports Stadium in Meham Town, around 30 KM from here, on Monday.
District Forest Officer (DFO), Rohtak Range, Jagdish Chander, informed that suspension order of all the employees, Wild life Inspector- Rajender Punia-, Wild Life Guard- Charan Singh- and night watchman – Randhir Singh, had been issued on the basis of preliminary inquiry conducted by the DFO, Hisar Range, Shakti Singh.
Prima-facie, all three had reportedly been found “guilty” in the inquiry report, he added. Notably, ten deer were reportedly found dead and four other were in an injured state at the park on Saturday morning. The incident had come to light when night watchman – Randhir Singh - posted there heard cawing of crows hovering over the park and also saw a herd of stray dogs fighting for carcasses of deer inside the park.
He found ten deers dead while four others injured when he went inside the park. According to reports, the dogs managed to make their way into the park and attacked the deers While the watchman and the wild life Gaurd deployed there were reportedly asleep and unaware of what had been going on inside the park.
In the morning, the watch man and guard immediately informed the local forest officers, who rushed the park and sent the remains of Deer for post mortem after taking stock of the situation. “The post mortem report reveals that the innocent deers were mauled to death by the dogs,” said Jagdish Chander, adding that the official investigation into the matter was still on and exact cause behind the Deer killing would be ascertained after completion of the investigation.
Earlier, a three member team, comprising wild life conservator, Satyavaan, DFO Hisar, Shakti Singh, and DFO, Rohtak, Jagdish Chander, on Monday visited the spot and inspected the arrangements made available to take care of Deer in the park. The team also asked the watchman and wild life guard about the incident. (EoM)
