All the four remaining deer of Deer Park at Meham town, about 30 km from here, were also mauled to death by a herd of stray dogs on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Taking strong view over the incident, the Wild Life Department has also placed its three more employees under suspension in this connection and started investigation.
According to reports, the incident came to fore on Friday morning when the wild life employees deputed there came to know about the incident. They informed their seniors who rushed to the spot and buried the carcasses of all four deer after getting the post mortem done.
“Those have been suspended including Wild Life Guard, Maman Ram, Wild Life Keepar, Ishwar Dutt and watchman Sunder. All those were deputed there couple of days ago after the first incident of deer killing in which 10 deer were found dead at the Deer Park,” said Jagdish Chander, district forest officer, adding that three other officials had already been suspended in this connection as well.
The deer park wore a deserted look on Saturday as no official was posted there and the main gate of the park was locked after all the seven staff members posted there were suspended for dereliction of duty after all 14 deer inmates of the park were mauled to death by the stray dogs.
Meanwhile the people for animal (PFA) has demanded registration of a criminal case against the wild life department officials responsible for the death of allthe 14 deers in the park. PFA leader Naresh Kadian on Saturday lodged a complaint at the Meham police station for registration of a case. (EoM)
