Shiksha Sadans will be constructed in Haryana as per need to provide better facilities to the teachers. Till date, there is only one Shiksha Sadan at Panchkula in the State.
This was disclosed by the Education Minister, Haryana Mrs Geeta Bhukkal at Jhajjar today.
She said that Shiksa Sadans would provide a kind of facility of a rest house to the teachers. The topic of constructing Shiksha Sadans for teachers was also discussed in the conference of Education Ministers organised recently at National level in New Delhi. The procedure of providing facilities like health insurance, loans, etc to the teachers would also be simplified so that maximum numbers of teachers could take benefit of the facilities being provided to them by the government.
Mrs. Bhukkal said that she felt proud that Haryana ranked among those leading states which are providing quality education to their children.
The state had the facility of primary school within a radius of 1 km and secondary school within a radius of 3 km.
Mrs. Bhukkal said that in the recently concluded conference of Education Ministers she forcefully took up the matter of giving rights to the state to decide the number of colleges and universities in it. With the laying of foundation stone of Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Haryana, a new era of education had already been ushered in the state.
Mrs. Bhukkal , who is also Health Minister, inaugurated special pulse polio campaign in Jhajjar by administering polio drops to a number of children at brick kilns. As many as 28,000 children would be administered pulse polio drops under special pulse polio campaign in district Jhajjar alone. Polio drops would also be administered to all the children of the people working in 2100 factories and 400 brick kilns during the three – day campaign. Although no case of polio had been registered in Haryana, the health workers should not be negligent in administering polio drops and they should ensure that all children in the age group of 0-5 years were covered under the campaign, she added.
Earlier, she heard the grievances of the people at her residence and ordered the officers concerned to redress them immediately. The officers should personally visit the villages which are continuously facing the problem of drinking water for human beings and animals and take appropriate steps ensure adequate supply of drinking water to these villages, she said.
Mr. Chiranji Lal Sharma, President District Congress was also present on this occasion.
